Easyjet Robbers!

Hi,
Can anyone advise me? I have a situation which I believe has a lot of similarities with the bank charging fiasco - and was wondering if it is worth pursuing?
I just cancelled flights with Easyjet - and been hit by a £150 charge!!! Personally, I feel this is totally disproportionate for what they call "an admin charge."
Basically, I booked two return tickets from Newcastle to Palma in Mallorca - not knowing my boyfriend had already done so earlier in the day! Hence we had ordered twice the amount of tickets we needed.
I know it was our fault, and accept some form of proportionate charge might be made - but £150!!!
Easyjet simply don't want to know. Their customer service is terrible. Visit the website and try contacting them! I also tracked down their Luton phone number, but had not joy via the phone. Everything seems designed to obstruct the customer!
Although they took the money from my credit card in seconds, I have been told that my refund (minus the £150) will take 10 days to complete. Profiteering surely!
I feel there are some similarities regarding the bank charging situation. Is this a claim worth pursuing in the courts?
I feel I have been robbed.

Many budget (and some not-so-budget) tickets, whether for trains, buses or aeroplanes, are not refundable or transferrable. This is common knowledge. That Easyjet are offering a partial refund at all is to their credit.
Consumer rights do not apply to a change of mind - they are for faulty merchandise.0 -
Check their T&C's - they are almost certainly operating in accordance with them.
Budget airlines come in for a great deal of stick but their pricing policy is simple - they keep the costs to a minimum by stripping out all of the little "extras" or "features", the bits that not 100% of their customers would necessarily utilise.
Personally, I wouldn't hear a bad word said about them - you get what you pay for quite literally.
In most sectors, companies will win contracts by coming in at low cost but hitting the scope and make their money when the customer changes their mind ("a variation"), UP goes the price and their profit margin then.0 -
There is a possibility that it may be an unenforceable penalty clause as it is a prefixed fee imposed for a breach of contract. The question of whether it is an unenforceable penalty is whether the fee was disproportionate in relation to what they could conceivably expect their loss to be or whether it was a genuine pre-estimate of loss. It may also be classed as an unfair term under the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999. Its worth submitting a small claim as the court fee is quite low and because of the small amount involved it is unlikely they will defend as it would be uneconomical for them to do so.0

It's that they have to resell the tickets aswell, not just an admin fee. They might not sell them so they take the money to cover that.0

One supposes you could had given the tickets to two firends and made a weekend of the trip!0

I think finding two friends to source two forged passports and change their names would be tricky. And four people living together with only two different names between them would also raise eyebrows. Then again that's common in the North (lots of family members having the same name. What's with that?)0 -

I think what KimYeovil is trying to say is that flight tickets are non-transferable0
