Problems with Word 2007

I downloaded the program from the internet and it works and opens absolutely fine.

However when I save something, it's saving as a wordpad document. I can have word open and open it from there. But I'm trying to send my CV on to future employers and it's saving as the wrong file type, even when selecting to save as a Word document.

Also when trying to open the program when right clicking>open with and selecting word 2007 it says it's not a 'valid win32 program/app'

Any help please?

    Somewhere I wasn't supposed to!

I know when I downloaded it it was as a .rar file, but used a convertor to open it.

why dont you use openoffice, its free and you can save docs in a file type so users with 2007 can open them plus open office is free

In that case, follow DCFC79's advice and try OpenOffice.

No it wasn't. It was from a torrent website.

I think the OP meant word 2007 from a torrent site. tut tut, none of us would ever do something like that! ;-)
