I paid our account on line on the 19th May and printed off their confirmation "Pay by card complete" and now they're chasing me for money. I know there's no probs with our cash account!

They're saying I should pay again. B....r that!

Has this happened to anyone else?

The bank confirmed that it left our account on the 20th.

I heard about a Bt scam on an other forum - where people are being called and threatened with being cut off to get you to give them card details - then needless to say loads of fraud on the cards!

I'm not saying that this is what has happened to you - 20th is only a couple of days ago if it hasn't gone via FP it could stil be "in transit".

I'd call them (BT) and ask about it - then you know that you are defo speaking to the right people for a start and not some scammer and can go on from there...

was it credit or debit card some times when i pay by debit it takes a couple of days to clear on the company's end no idea why as it instantly leaves my account. also check it;s the correct bt number they have because they kept chasing my mum for her bill and it turned out they had two references for her (but that's going back 20 yrs lol)

If you mistype your BT account number the payment can go into 'limbo' awaiting allocation. Check the receipt that the details of the account to be credited are correct.

    Hi ireneski,

This is normally straightforward to sort out. If payment has been taken and it has been paid to BT then this will generate a reference number which your bank can supply you with. Send me the reference number with your details in a PM and I will get this checked out for you.

    cheers
