How long do they have to make a decision?

Hi there,
I have a loan with A&L and believe that was missold the insurance to go with it, they sent me a letter saying that this may be the case and so I sent the template letter from this site to them asking for my money back. A couple of weeks later I had a letter from them saying that they were looking into my case, a couple of weeks after that I had another letter sayin that they were still looking into it but were very busy. It has now been a total of 9 weeks and I've heard nothing back.
I know they have 8 weeks to respond but my question is, do these letter count as a response or should they have made a decision by now?
Thanks in advance
Sarah

Hi Sarah
You can if you want to go to the FOS now, but if you want to just give it a little longer, (for instance give them your own timescale - for example another 7 -14 days) if you've not heard then contact them, and tell them you will move your case on to the FOS to investigate as they have had more than ample time.
This may be a good sign but if they do give you an offer, do not go for anything that is low, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
