Sorry if this has been done before.
I'm interested to find out the overall best cards to apply for (in terms of credit limit)
Can we post our recent cards and limits? (I don't know how to do a poll)
I'll kick off
Mint £5250
MBNA £3000
Barclaycard £1200
Halifax £1400

At the moment I owe MBNA £3000 and Barclaycard £1700. I earn £15k. I am thinking of going with Egg as I've heard they tell you the credit limit straight after clicking 'submit'. Then if it doesn't suit me (ie its too low) I can just not bother signing the agreement when it arrives. If I did do this, would it be logged on my credit score ?0

Most liberal was/is MBNA, though they are tightening up, due to gov pressure/fears.
Mbna 14k6 + 5k8(abbey)+ 5k (A&L)
Barclays £11k
Your limit increases with use and time, the above two will let you swop limits between cards and both do SBTs. (seem to remember Barclays SBT is for existing customers only.)
Beware MBNA have started stopping cards that have not been used for 13months.They will telephone you before, but if you dont answer phone, you dont get a second chance. So existing customers beware when waiting for a 0% mailshot.Moi....?

I have two Halifax cards, one with a limit of £10k, and the other with a limit of £7k6. I think their limits was £1k each when I first got them.
I also have a Lloyds TSB Classic Card with £5k limit - the original limit was £250.0
