Advice pls on rent property

Hi, I split up with artner for 20yrs and have 2children , however I cannot live in the home anymore as it joinly owned and a small 2 bedroom and we have outgrown a long time ago and I share a bedroom with my daughter. However we have loans on the house so we have no money left in it and i cannot afford a mortgage on my own as i work part time.
If I was to rent the house out, that would cover the mortgage, however if i rent another property that is big enough for the 3 of us it will cost more, would I get help with housing benefit as the the rental income is no extra profit as it covers the mortgage.
Does anyway have any advice, due to the loans on the house it is not an option to sell at the moment.
