Applied for Bank of Scotland Easycash account and don't live near a branch?

Hi,
For the sake of avoiding credit/debit card fees on Ryanair flights I decided to apply for a Visa Electron card, and I understand that the most common provider of these for the general market (some are only under 18s) is the Halifax/BOS Easycash account.
Anyway, I applied for one on the BOS website, but at the time I didn't really give it much thought, I just typed Easycash into Google and it was the BOS site which came up first, so I applied through them. At the time, I didn't really give it much thought, but on reflection it would have been better to apply through Halifax, so I'd have got an account with a local branch.
I received the confirmation of ID letter today, and yes, the letter was from BOS, not Halifax, but I decided to just go along with it and returned the ID confirmation form.
Do you think that they'll realise by my address a BOS account is not suitable and give me a Halifax account, or will it be a BOS account? Also, if it is a BOS account, will this matter? Will I still have access to it at any Halifax branch?
Cheers

Yeh you can - if you go in a Halifax branch you'll notice they have both a Halifax logo and one for BoS on their badges0

Will I still have access to it at any Halifax branchYou won't be able to:
- earn interest when your account is in credit.
- have an overdraft, chequebook or cheque guarantee card
- use a branch counter to pay in money, withdraw less than £300 or make a routine enquiry.

Doesn't look as though you'd have a great deal of branch access, even if it was the Halifax version - http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/easycash.asp
I've called them before when I was trying to get money in to pay for flights and was told that I should go to the branch and pay it inJust because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
You have plenty of branch access, just that the quote from Baldur doesn't explain what you do get, just what you don't get. You can pay money in using the immediate deposit machines, which take cheques and cash, and put them in your account instantly. So no need for the counter service.
And for your original question, Halifax / BOS are basically the same bank, all that is different is the branding. So your card, and any correspondence, will say BOS, instead of Halifax.0 -
I know on the the website when I applied for my Halifax Easycash account that it said that you can't pay anything in over the counter, but I have paid in cheques over the counter no problems to my account.0

The BOS branches in Scotland don't really enforce those rules - apparently Halifax ones do more frequently. They are the same company (Halifax is just a brand name of Bank of Scotland)
The other option is faster payments into the Easycash account, rather than going into a branch & paying in cash. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have a Halifax Easycash account and the only time I have used a branch was when I changed my name and needed to take in my deed poll - I always use faster payments as it is much easier.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
