harping at the idea of paying £60 for being within the congestion charge 4 minutes early, does anyone have an idea if I'm likely to be able to fight this particularly as I am certain I didn't actually enter it?

You need to post the details and why you think or can prove you did not enter the CC zone.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0

Really difficult to fight CC.
On 4 minutes i don't think you'd even have a chance of challenging calibration of the clocks used.
I'm guessing you probably did enter cos it's the only way they could have your details - only the cameras take them - specs I think. As above said - why do you think not? - cos again, signage is pretty flawless.0 -
Despite most peoples views, Prior to signing up to the fleet scheme I have successfully had CC London cancel PCNs by appealing that it was only minuets before the charging period was either due to start or finish.
You have to be VERY polite in your appeal, and using the words "on this occasion only" and "ask you to cancel" helps. Some did work others certainly did not, but I would always try.
Appealing on behalf of a Company probably helped too.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -
Fair enough. Maybe worth a go. Do they re-offer the discount if declined?
I have to confess to getting nabbed myself the other day! New road layout took me in before I realised!
With some serious slapping from a friend i paid the cockle the following day.0 -
