Calls from dm Ltd.

Hi I am being chased by Debt Managers ltd for a bill I simply cannot afford.
My income dropped last year and my wife has ben diagnosed with Bowel ans liver cancer so she is not working. This has built up over a few months and I have had a reactional breakdown and lost my job. DML keep ringing asking me to borrow money to pay them saying that if I get a CCJ i would find it hard to get a job in the future and they saying theywill send round ddorstep collectors. My wife has a grads 5 cancer and the stress is too much, what can i do. I have written to them but they keep ringing asking for payments I dont have.

  • Hi Warship
Sorry to hear you are having problems. You may find it more useful to post on the Loans or Debt free wannabe forums.

    Hope this helps,

  • Warship, really sorry to read of your problems.

The debt collecting agency are breaching a number of rules and regulations, not least by suggesting you borrow more money and making threatening demands.

Have a look at this link to see what they can and can not do:

I know with your wife's illness you do not need the added stress of these calls and potential threats of visits by collectors, but please bear in mind a debt collector has absolutely no rights at all. They have less rights than a paper boy! All they can do is ask you to pay and that is it. You say 'no thankyou, please leave' and close the door.

I know its hard, but don't let them grind you down.
Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)
