Bit of advise please

Hi i'm sure this question has been asked numerous times but here goes.
I was on DMP (stupidly fee paying) for about 2 yrs hubby and i sat down to go thru finances just before Christmas realised we were actually worse off so severed all ties with DMP company. I have now set up monthly payments myself with banks, cc companies etc and luckily all have agreed.
My query is.... having looked into what amount i could claim back in charges i could pretty much clear all if not a huge chunk of the overdraft i have with the bank and a substantial amount off the credit cards.
If i were to write to them with a financial hardship claim pretty much stating this, can they then get stroppy and cancel the repayment plans i have set up with them and start trying to make me pay them back in full? Or because I have all repayments agreed in writing am I safe to go ahead and try and claim charges?
Thank you for any advise in advance

With regards to bank charges, they shouldn't get out of any repayment plans providing you are up to date and on time with all those plans. I suspect the bank will reject a hardship case on the basis that you have arrangements in place to make payments. If you have credit cards then those charges can be claimed straight away although expect any amount to be paid onto any arrears owed. However that does mean that your overall amount owing goes down.
