Paying a cheque into a natwest ATM

As an RBS customer? Is this okay and will it be authorised?

Received a cheque from a gaming company for £300 a few weeks ago and was just wondering since theres no RBS near me, can I pay this cheque into a natwest ATM machine? If so will there be charges?

I would of thought that you had to pay a cheque into your own bank.

I dont think you can pay it into another one. Im sure someone will correct me :)
I know my spelling is shocking  It is alot better than it used to be though :rotfl:

Only thought this because I heard RBS and Natwest are the same company now?

    No idea though.

RBS and Natwest are technically the same company but in terms of their branches they operate as two separate banks. You can actually pay a cheque into any bank, as long as you have a proper printed paying in slip with all the necessary computer codes at the bottom of it. You are usually charged for it though if it isn't your own bank. Whether RBS will charge you or not, don't know.

So I cant just deposit the cheque through the Natwest ATM, seeing as they will have my card details anyway?

Why not put your card in to the ATM and see if it gives you the option to make a deposit? Then you know for sure.

If it won't accept it, you can always post it to an RBS branch.
