Hi, just heard about reclaiming ppi today and found this site, i appologise now for any mistakes i may make as i am a complete novice!
Basically i am seeking advice on my husbands behalf regarding 4 credit cards all with ppi and very near their limits. He has had 1 of them for at least 5 years and the other 3 are pretty recent. My querey is that when he got the first one he was employed and agreed to ppi but didnt read up about it. 4 years ago he became self employed and when appling for the other cards just automatically took ppi he thinks-he cant remember if he was asked or if it was just added. Anyway he just pays what ever they ask for and never queried it (He cant find any original agreements) Basically i keep hearing that when self employed claims for ppi are worthless, if this is so then shouldn't he have been made aware of this? How do I get hold of original documents and terms and conditions from the time when he signed up to them. I dont want to appear like im jumping on the band wagon with this just need some advise- any help welcome. sorry about the essay!! xx

Hi there
To request for copies of the agreements, they normally charge £1 for each one, payable by postal order of cheque payment.
Write to them and request for the copies, and they should supply by 12 days, post by recorded delivery.
If any of the addresses were different then also make them aware, and !!! the date of birth to the letters as well, the more info the better in order to track them down.
However, if you know PPI were added and mis sold for any reason, you can still try reclaiming on them and the interest.
However, if there are any active cards now, if worthless, you can cancel, the monthly repayments should be lower, also to the monthly statements should have the account number on them, you can add these to the letters to request for the copy's of agreements.
More info here with templates on reclaiming:

Write in own reasons for mis sold, and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Keep us posted and we can help, and if they do not resolve in your favour, write back until you receive the final response, which should have details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS) if eligible.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
