Me too for the dried soya. Not keen on baked beans added to mince - it tastes baked beany - prefer them on their own.

However, canelini beans are good as they dissolve when cooked for a longish time. They are cheap to buy dried and quick to cook after soaking.

With a 500g pack I usually manage two meals for the 5 of us, but then if I wanted to make more then just bulk out with more of everything else which is cheaper!
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

    Please help me
Trying to become more OS with my meals I followed a few tips that have totally changed the way I plan but I just can't get the hang of adding oats to things. It doesn't matter how much I put in or how high/low I have the gas, they always just end up all stuck to the bottom of the pan then it is a bloomin job to clean up afterwards.

So how do I add the oats in to the mince or casserole/stew? how low should the gas be and how long should they cook for? Is there a ratio I should have in mind of Oats to Meat/Veg?

What I do is mix the oats with a little water or milk depending on what I am making and then add it to the dish. I also add the oats only after I have added any liquid that I am using in the dish. Hope that makes sense.

There was a lot about adding oats & lentils to things on the "Feed a family of 4 on 20 pounds for a month?' by MBAZ. I don't know how to do a link but hopefully someone will come along that does LOL!

There's a lot of information on this thread too:
