    Is it a business venture?

Have you got any marine qualifications?

Business venture, that is interesting dopester.
I was toying with the idea of chartering the boat at a later stage, why do you ask?
Marine qualifications? None, last time i skippered a boat it was a 12ft speedboat in tenerife.

Well, there's quite a nice Wellcraft 260SE in Sarasota, Fl. It's only $18,000. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I don't want to miss out on this bargain, so I'm thinking of offering 10% over the asking price. Is it like repos, where they readvertise for a while with their highest offer? In that case, perhaps I should offer 20% over, just to play safe?

I really need some advice from you guys.

Can you put enough fuel in to drive it across the ocean, do you think? I wouldn't want to run out half-way across, as I can't see anywhere to rig a sail.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Let me tell you my hero that i am getting the boat, getting it shipped, all taxes and fees paid for £15k. It is a bargain as the boat is mint with low hours. 6 is colder, doesn't relate to deg c.

Ooh, thanks! Do you think that they'll take my offer if I make it £18k?

So you have some experience at least. I have none and so would be fearful of just taking a boat out on open seas. Was just wondering if there was a minimum qualification or standard required, to skipper a speedboat in the waters of Spain or elsewhere

Chartering? Well I asked because the mooring fees will have to be paid somewhere, and was wondering if you're going to try and make the boat pay for itself.

Icc certificate needed. I was under the impression that once the power boat level 2 was achieved you could apply for this, hopefully that is the case. Mooring fees are quite substantial obviously depending on where you want to be. I have friends who live in benalmadena and will be consulting them on this.

You seem very interested dopester, can you sniff a good business idea?

Interested yes, from the point of view it must be a nice lifestyle - if it can be kept within affordable levels. I like the idea of, well yachting especially... that you're not at the mercy of any one government and can depart to another place of your choosing over open water.

Nope to business ideas because I have no knowledge about the power boating scene, except for values are falling. Perhaps alcohol-tobacco smuggling, and a bit of piracy.

What is the range of one of those power-boats?

    I'd guess 100 miles.
