boiler usage question

My daughter and her soon to be husband have just moved into a house. They will require a shower in the morning and she again at lunchtime after gym and both at night with washing up at various times.

Would it be more economical to have the boiler come on and off twice (hour in morning and 2 hrsat nigh, or remain on throughtout the day to avoid the boiler being boosted twice.

Is this a combi boiler or a pressure system with a tank/water heater?
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
