OK I'll bite, but I bet in an hour you have messages supporting every printer out there! As always, it depends what you want to print, but for my mixed work (but mainly photo printing) I've moved to Canon after using and breaking HP and Epson printers over the years. I only use original cartridges and find the Canon ones last longer and run until they are absolutely dry. If you are lucky, once you decide what you want you might find a bargain at the Canon outlet (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Canon-Outlet).

Sit back and wait for the alternative views...!

I want a printer for general use but im after a 3 in 1 printer eg printer, copier and scanner but also 1 thats not expensive on the cartridges
  • Finding good compatibles are half the battle these days. I've went through a few brands until I found some that were actually half decent.

I've only got a cheap Canon bubblejet. The price for 1 set of original colour and black cartridges comes to the same price as I paid for the bl**dy printer.

Should add though that the printer works OK for what I want and has outlasted the Epson it replaced.

  • Canon and HP would be the best printers on the market today IMO. Got both a HP inkjet and laserjet, and neither have every given any bother yet. The manufacturers don't seem to make long lasting cartridges though anymore! 400 pages is the most my inkjet will do.
