Surveys

Hi

I'm buying a 35 year old property by Wards. The house is well looked after and good tidy.

The mortgage i'm applying for has a free valuation and doesnt need a survey.
Is it worth me having one done? How do i go about arranging this?

Thanks.
A bargain is only a bargain if you would have brought it anyway!

If you want a homebuyers survey, then mention it to your lender as the surveyor they use to do the valuation will carry out the survey report for you.

You don't need a full survey on this age property. But you may want to go with your gut instinct & just have the free valuation survey done as the property has very little age to it. This would be my choice.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Personally, on a house of that age, I'd have a homebuyer's report done. Full structural shouldn't be necessary. Best of luck

FYI, the lender requested basic valuation which would cost us £250, we asked for Homebuyers Survey so we paid £450 instead.
