Sorry, your question is not clear, at least not to me.

    Do you mean software installed?

Why don't you want to do it yourself? I have never heard of anyone being paid to intall a bit of software on a machine. It would be like paying someone to come round and turn on the TV for you :-)

I have never heard of anyone paying either accept if its a fresh install, new hard drive etc and user isnt confident.

It would depend on what software you wanted? if you havent got it already. Then I assume a person would work out on a hourly rate.

Why cant you install it yourself? It is unclear what you really trying to achieve

Am I right in thinking teh £160 is what you paid for additional software?

My place of work offers this service - If you were to bring it in to get done you would be looking at 30+VAT or for a call out you would be 20 (callout fee) + 20 per 30mins (this may take some time depending on what you want done). +VAT also

This should give you an idea of what prices people charge for this service. To be honest if you follow the on-screen instructions you can't go far wrong so would be a waste of money really.
