WARNING door to door REFUNDS

Just had to console a customer who lost £2000 cash to a couple of con-men who were offering here a refund for work my company had done for here 6 months ago. They convinced this 76 year old lady that the had a draft for £4000 refund when it should have only been £2000. She was told that if she gave then £2k cash today, hey could leave the 'bankers draft'.
She went to the bank, with drew the money and then called me to confirm it was OK, Being jsut 1.2 mile away, I tried to get to here before they left, but was to late. All respect to Greater Manchester Police who got there in minutes, and there helecopter was in the area very soon. Unfortunately they has long gone. Yesterday, I got another call of a gent customers who had a similar call (12 miles away), he told them to sling it..... they did.
What is wrong with these B*%$£$%$d's, BEWARE any exterior work on your home could be a target.
