Anyone know anything about bamboo blinds?

Hi

I posted this in 'I wanna buy it or do it' but it hasn't got any replies and I thought maybe this might be a better place for it ...

We have a rather ugly shelving unit which we want to hide with a simple bamboo blind. It needs to be 80cm wide, which is fine, but I can't find anything with a drop of more than 183cm. We need at least 220cm.

Am I searching in vain or does anyone know anyone who can supply this length?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure exactly what you're after (Venetian, Roman, etc..) but I did a little search for you, since I'm thinking about blinds too, and blinds-factorydirect.co.uk do various different kinds. They state that their Bamboo Roman-style blinds are
Available in sizes up 86"(220cm) drop and 95"(240cm) wide.
I've no idea whether they're reputable, etc.. just found them during searching.

We almost bought some lovely wooden ones the other day from a boot sale, but the largest ones weren't quite wide enough. Could've kitted out the whole house for about £70 if they'd been a tad bigger. How annoying :(

    Good luck.

Ikea are well known for the lengths of their curtains and blinds, you could try them if you're near one.

Thank Hannoja, I will have a look. It's a shame I want the cheapest type (prefer that look!) that is a fiver in argos, Homebase, Wilkinson but the frops not long enough ...!

Thanks too lovethymini. Unfortunately I am an hours drive away from my 'local' Ikea. I had a look on their website but they don't seem to have any.

    hi expat
why not buy 2 of the size you want and extend it to the size you need by cutting some off one and then adding it to the bottom they are only held together with woven cord.
