The daftness of this???

Perhaps you'll like this daftness.
I know someone who for medical reasons needs a wet room, and made an application for a grant. Grant was awarded for it for 43% of the cost of installation by an approved contractor. That leaves him 57% to pay.
He can get the job done, by a very reputable local contracor, for around that 43%, and so be better off without the grant, but the authority will give him zilch.
Such things IMO really get my back up.
