HALIFAX JUST SHAVED OFF £100 CONTENTS INS

I rang to cancel my existing contents and building insurance policy with Halifax. They have changed their insurance product and now have their own which worked out £100 cheaper!!!

I was annoyed to think that I would not have been offered this as an existing customer had I not rung to cancel. Apparently they are'nt allowed to poach custom from the previous company used.

So perhaps those of you who took out a Halifax Insurance cover before the start of this year might like to ring up and ask about their own new package.

Not only did I not incur penalties for cancelling, I was rebated my Building Insurance (pro rata payment) because under the old policy I had to pay this annually in a lump sum!
