Hi all! I am new to this part of the chat forum. I am not strictly speaking in debt, well not seriously, but recently had to put £450 car expenses on my credit card which I want to clear as quickly as poss.

I am off sick today so I have spent nothing. Yesterday though was supposed to be my first day of not spending any money that I did not really need to, but I failed at the first hurdle.

I spent £3.49 on postage for Amazon. The plan was to bypass the charity shop but of course in I went and spent £3.20 on books which were all worthless, so that was £3.20 wasted.

Then £20.00 on petrol (necessary) and £4.01 in local shop on paper (not necessary), milk and rolls (all which should have been bought with the proper shopping on Saturday) plus two of those rice crispy type cake things (definitely not necessary!)

Do you do this every day, list your spending??? Thanks

First day of my 'Holiday at Home'. Went to the V&A and had a fantastic time - I could get used to not going to work! Took a packed lunch and avoided the bookshop (major achievement for me :D ) but did spend £1.80 on a pot of tea. Spent £4.50 on fish and chips on the way home.

Guess I could have been a bit stricter with myself but I'm still at the stage where I compare what I spend now with what I would have spent on the same trip a month ago (£30+). On the plus side I'm now thinking "where's the money coming from?" and "I can have this or that, but not both". One step at a time.......

Bit of a costly day todya but I am new to this and learning fast!

Spent £22 in Morrisons. On nights for next few nigts and plan to take in packed lunches.
£48 on a monthly travel card. First time I have done this so just a trial really to see if it works out cheaper.
£14 in Primark on 2 pairs of trousers for work (the others split those a neccesity) and a £4 reduced skirt that I may wear to a christening.

    Hopefully I'll do better tomorrow!

    Horrendously expensive day here.

Weekly shopping £85 (the good thing is I was underbudget by a fiver, and made savings of £11)

Boots £12 stuff for DS1's trip

Asda £73.70 on clothes for DS1 (we did get loads though)

    And it goes on....
£25 on a memory card for my new camera
    £22 on printer ink replacements

I think I had better just not leave the house for rest of the month. :o
