Anyone got a clue about this email problem. When two known senders (in my address book) try to send email to my AOL address they receive an automatically generated notice to say - Delivery status notification - warning message only. You do not need to resend your message.Delivery to the following recipient has been delayed.
But I never receive the email!
Can anyone suggest any solution.I have tried sending email to them and asking them to use the reply function - but still no success. AOL advice as ever useless.

After the delayed message, they will probably get a permanent error it it's undeliverable. It might be useful to see this.
My guess is that AOL may have been blacklisted by their mail server or there's another temporary problem with AOL. My mail server temporarily delays messages that cannot be filtered or are incorrectly addressed for manual inspection, so there may also be something like that in place.0 -
i'm on aol and keep having this sort of problem
after discovering that emails from my accountant had suddenly stopped coming through , i spent over 2 hours the other night on "aol live help" .. who were useless
It's to do with the very strict anti spam policy that aol have .
apparantely if a company isn't "approved" then emails they send will bounce back and it tells them to go through an aol link (i had but now can't find) where they have to put in all sorts of techie details .
I had this problem last year .. again with a "company" (rather than an individual) .. took ages to sort .
I noe becom paranoid because i'm wondering whether there are other emails that i'm not getting ... i'm also curious when some personal ones don't seem to get a response.
I'm very unhappy about situation !0 -
Yet another reason to avoid AOL like the plague !0

Thanks nickmack - I don't think its an address problem because the reply function doesn't work either. I'll try and get any permanent error message to see if that throws any light.
Thanks again0 -
I can't agree more about AOL - I know I should quit AOL but I am the only one who feels so tied into an ISP because of the sheer volume of contacts who have my existing email addresss. I just dread the thought of changing - it's a bit like changing bank account but worse! I might just complain again to them to see if they will give me another free 3 month extension period.
Like pennymakespounds I'm starting to feel paranoid about what other email I'm not receiving and you're right both of my "problem" contacts are from companies rather than personal contacts0 -
