cordless phone that won't wake my baby up!

hello!
i bought myself a shiny new cordless house phone (Binatone Symphony 2210 TAM 24.99 from argos!) and as much as its a good phone you can't turn the base ringer off, only the handset ringer. seeing as my 10 month old now wakes up at the slightest noise, whenever it rings he is straight awake and crying, so i have taken to unplugging the phone when he is asleep. i either forget to plug it back in or miss an important call at night.

i need to get a similar (cheapish) phone that i can either turn down very very low, or off but with flashing lights or something, needs to have a screening type answerphone (that you can hear people leaving messages on) as i hate answering the phone if i don't know who it is.

Any ideas?

    Hello merdoom

I'll move your thread to the 'Home Phones' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.
