Hi,
I posted here last week regarding my mum getting made redundant, well it finally was made official today and she has walked away with 3k in PILON.
Now she is too see the DSS and try to get help via IMSI (??) to help with the mortgage payments.
They want to see her payslips, bank account statements and mortgage paperwork, all fine apart from, I help my mum out each month and put a couple of hundread in her account for her, I don't live there but my younger (age 18) brother does and he's in full time college, so no money coming in from him.
Will my extra contribution stop her from getting help? Should I stop making these payments?
I believe my sister has also made a few payments as well, but mine are regular and show on her statements.
Thanks
V

I would be wary of giving her that financial help in the form of cash showing up in her bank account personally.
How about giving her suitable vouchers? Marks & Spencers vouchers/Tesco vouchers/etc? She would be restricted as to what shop she could spend the money in - but it wouldnt show up on her bank account statements....0
