I'll get the amount I bidded, the p&p costs and the p&p to return item to the seller refunded?
She means that you'll get the full amount you paid initially (inc. P&P) but you need to get it back to the seller and pay for it out of your own pocket.

I said to the seller about the postage to send the item back would leave me out of pocket. I hoping the seller would be kind. I have not heard from them since. About 5 days ago was the last time. Any suggestions what to do now? This is certainly a lesson for me.

Unless you ask the seller to fund the return postage (which she doesn't have to do) then I can't see how you will get you're money back.

Was the postage she charged initially correct? Because if so, the seller has only made £1 profit as well and would be losing out substantially as well by refunding you, even if she got the item back.

You could try and say, that the reason you're returning the item is the seller's fault so they should foot the bill.

The seller made about 50p on the postage. I didn't ask the seller to foot the bill as I know they don't have to. I just thought I say I'd be losing out to see if the seller would be kind enough to offer to pay the return postage. Even though it is their fault that I want a refund in the first place. I guess I'm in a no win situation by here.

The seller might learn from this, be absolutely truthful about the item you are selling. List all blemishes, imperfections etc. and you are covered.

Why not post the item number or give the price?

I would go to a dispute now. Would be so much easier.

Not all sellers make anything on postage, some have to pay for the packaging, fuel to get to the postage etc.

I thought that only the seller could claim via the PO, not the buyer.

In most cases RM send a letter to the buyer to confirm they did not get the item.
