All this talk of hosepipe bans and water shortages - I wish - you should all live in Middlesbrough we're paddling up to our thighs here. Water shortage indeed!!!! and I think theres more to come over the Bank Holiday.

I would have thought if you live in Middlesborough, that the weather is the least of your problems.

I am not from Middlesbrough but I have lived nearby on the coast for many years. It never ceases to amaze me how snooty and ill-informed people are about the area. Whenever the town is in the news for anything, there are always the same cheap jokes from journalists, who have probably never visited, and grudging, snidey comments about any issue connected with the town.

Nobody would claim that it is a garden city. It is a port with heavy industry and has its fair share of deprivation. So I guess it is an easy target for those ready to mock. However, within 15 minutes of the town there are beaches and countryside which rarely get a mention.

Do people feel better for having a go at certain unfashionable areas in the UK?

And by the way it's Middlesbrough not Middlesborough.

....because it's hard to visit those places when your car is up on bricks. :D

Can't you get pressure washers that'll run from a water butt or something, rather than a tap....surely that's the green thing to do...and no-one need have a dirty car/patio.

    Anyone got one?

If you are using a hosepipe, then it is illegal and banned in hosepipe ban areas.

Does not matter if from water butt, or direct from clouds in sky.

A hosepipe ban means exactly that !

All pressure washers will run off water butts you will have to fit a hoselock type fitting to the butt instead of a tap and of course you will be allowed to use it during a hosepipe ban laughing-smiley-014.gif
