Barclaycard 19% interest. Help!

in Credit cards
Hi
I'm a student and I bought a camera for my course last year on my Barclaycard. It is the only thing I have ever used a credit card for and have not used it since. Basically, I am struggling with the minimum payments now and have tried to apply for other cards to balance transfer but was refused.
I realize now what a mistake I made and now it seems like 2/3 of what I pay each month is interest. I think I got the card because I have a Barclays student account. I am also a single mum so would find it difficult to work and study and am finding the payments difficult. Plus, I just got an offer from Barclaycard in the post for 6.9%interest balance transfer but I don't think this applies to me as I'm already with them. Any suggestions appreciated.
