Hi guys,
Just want to know what your verdict is on Asda pay as you go. I had a look at there website and their rates look amazing. Only 4p per text any network anytime and 8p (per minute) per call any network anytime. I would be a low to medium user and only require a basic phone without all the gimmicks.
Are there any other pays as you go or low pay monthly deals that would be similar to this?
Thanks for your help.

We have been with Asda mobile for a few months not and not had any problems.
We were on Orange previously and now have better reception in our area.
They use Vodafone as a carrier apparently.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
I've also been on Asda mobile for a few months, with no complaints at all.
The only minor problem was an unexpected delay in getting my number ported across to them, and that was because of unusual weather conditions (snow) preventing their staff getting in to work!
As the previous poster says, Asda is effectively the same thing as Vodafone, so coverage is very good. I use texts more than anything else, so I make huge savings...0 -
Another happy Asda customer here. Been with them since beginning of the year and no problems.
In that time I have been to Caithness in the far north of Scotland down to Aberystweth (SP?) in Wales and always had a strong signal.
Very cheap for Internet access on the mobile too0 -
i tried them for a month the reception was rubbish . im now with vodafone and its great so im not so sure that asda + vodafone are together. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Asda mobile does use the Vodafone network see here
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I almost purchased an ASDA sim the other day, but then I remembered how Orange wants £20 to unlock it... I was looking for a short-term investment too0

Reception on Asda would be exactly the same a Vodafone as Asda is just a virtual network than runs over Vodafone. Asda don't have their own network, it just works over Vodafone. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Another vote for asda here. I was a Virgin customer but havent looked back.0

What handset is it? You can probably unlock it for free, or for a lot less than £20...
I flashed a couple of Sony w800/810s recently for family, no problem at all, fully unlock now from Orange.0 -
I looked at prepay not too long ago and ASDA came out on top on the pricing but I found for my moderate use an O2 sim only tariff at £10 with 1 months notice figured out better.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017
