Difference in fitting Porcelain Tile vs Ceramic

Hi,
I got a quote from a tiler which I was happy about, based upon fitting ceramic tiles.
I've now gone and bought porcelain tiles.
Does it make any difference?
Is it harder to cut porcelain?
Would it be a more expensive job to fit?
Can ready-mixed adhesive be used on porcelain as it can with ceramic?
I'd appeciate some advice before I inform the tiler of my change in material of the tiles.
It's a smallish area - 17 sq m - I've bought 19 sq m
Cheers,
Steve

porcelain tiles are usually used as wall tiles. ceramic tiles are harder and when made thicker are usually used for floors.
(simplification, but generally the idea).Get some gorm.0 -

ceramic tiles are harder....I think not
Porcelain and one of the hardest materials to cut and drill,Grade 5 porcelain which most of the stuff is requires a good snap cutter and diamond drills
I normally charge a small % more for porcelain and natural stones due to the extra wear and tear on tools,I have been know to use a £25 armeg PTC drill on Gemmini young stone tiles and only get 8 holes out of a drill before blunt
Porcelain requires also a cement based adhesiveHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0
