My teenagers love the chicken tikka sandwich filler, which you get in tubs at the supermarket, on wraps and pittas for their lunches. unfortunately they are expensive  and I would like to try making HM.
Obviously there`s chicken, mayo, and tikka flavouring, but I don`t know which would be the best way to get the tikka effect - jar of paste ?
I don`t want to try umpteen different ways which will cost me more money in the long run, so has anyone done this ?
I have looked for recipes but maybe in the wrong place, sorry.
Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions.

I'd mix mayo with relevant spices/powder, then add in the chicken. I'd also think about adding in other stuff like finely minced onion, green peppers and a squirt of tomato paste.0

Hi psso,
These threads might help:
Cold chicken tikka / tandoori chicken
Home-made sandwich spreads
There are also some links to recipes on google

There's a recipe here on the 2nd posting in this forum I just googled: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?showtopic=822030

Asda do a jar of chicken tikka filling - you will find it near sandwich spreads. It is about 85p for a jar and is very tasty. My teenager loves it. Once open it does not have a long shelf life. Maybe worth a try0

Hi All,
I love the above fillings, but I hate paying £2 something for a roll!
I remember looking for recipes for these before and only finding one for tikka which had curry paste in, but on the jar of pastes we've had they all say to be cooked before eating!?
Does anyone have any recipes to share please?!
Thank you

Same as above, or mayo instead of yoghurt if I've run out."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0
