in Credit cards
At the end of last month, I wrote to Capital One with a view to setting up a payment plan to clear off my credit card and included a seperate financial breakdown of my incomings and outgoings down to the last penny and I have already paid £20 to stop my account from defaulting.
A few days ago, I received a letter dated the 8th of this month stating that the original letter hadn't been signed by myself and could I send another copy which I did a few days ago along with another copy of my financial breakldown and which I did do so.
Before I sent the second set of documents, I was asked to call Capital One to confirm that the payment had gone through and to set up a payment plan.
I called on Tuesday and I was told a different story in that the documentation that I sent wasn't acceptable and that I would have to send in a letter from the DWP as well as a bank statement stating what payments I got from them.
I found this to be unacceptable as whenever I've needed to ask to have a payment plan done, the organisations concerned had no problem accepting my offer for payment and I've always kept my word that the payments would be paid on the dates concerned.
I feel as if Capital One doesn't believe that I'm telling the truth as far as my financial breakdown is concerned and they want me to pay more than I can afford.
Not only that, they also said that if I took the long-term plan then my account would still be defaulted.
I spoke to a Manager yesterday and he seemed to be helpful although there were times when he came across as saying that if I didn't send the documentation then I would be in trouble.
He did say that if I wanted to pay off the debt with a payment plan without having to send the other lot of documentation, then I would have to pay over £150 which I don't have right now and which I definitely don't want to borrow off my parents even though they wouldn't have any problem lending me it.
I definitely want to clear off my card and not use it for the foreseeable future but I feel that I'm just being treated like dirt because I don't want to do what the company says when it comes to applying for a payment plan.
If anyone has any advice they can offer me, I would be most appreciative of it.:D
