DVD to Ipod or DIVX

Im looking for a little help please, im trying to convert dvd to ipod or even divx but dont seem to be getting it right and sometimes im only getting part movie, i have been trying this on the star wars movie hoping to get all on my ipod but no matter what i try im picking the wrong settings somewhere Ive got nero 7 ultra edition and an allok converter which converts to ipod and zen format also running vista home premium and its just getting it to that stage i cant seem to do:o

Im looking to buy the full prison break series for my holiday viewing is there anyhere legally i can download it from as ive downloaded mp3s (amazon) just wasnt sure if possible for films and i am looking to pay not use the torrent way.

Can anyone please help can i do it with what i have or will i need other software?

I would recommend Handbreak to convert DVD to DivX. This can be found at (handbreak dot fr)

Or alternativley, if you want to convert movies to .mp4 formatt for iPhone then something like virtualdub might be a good idea. Although it does need the codecs on your system to be able to do it, maybe a bit advanced I'm not sure.

Alternativley I would finally try using "DVDFlick" if you google it I'm sure you can get the website to download it!

Both good bits of software for doing what you want I believe!

It's Handbrake.

DVD Flick provides exactly the opposite function to what the OP needs.

Even with Handbrake, unless you're using MacOS, you still need something to deal with CSS. It's a thorny issue at best: see what happened to RealDVD.

I need a little help with handbrake please, ive loaded the source file which shows title 1 (2.48) chapters 1-49 duration 02.48 ive set the destination folder and then hit start a dos window flashes up then goes and message encoding complete at the bottom but the destination folder is empty any ideas where im going wrong?
