Help Canceling Virgin Media

Hi there,

I have recently ordered a new bt line and will be talking their home phone and broadband packages. At the moment i have tv, home phone and broadband from VM. I am getting the new line installed on Fri 22nd how do you advise i cancel VM. I only want to keep the basic channels tv package and get rid of everything else. Also wanting to keep my cable phone number to transfer to bt. Will i be able to cancel everything on the same day i get the bt installed? Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing, I'm assuming that you're now outside the 12 month contract which means that you need to give them 30 days notice of cancellation. You need to be careful about downgrading your VM packages as customer services (talk about an oxymoron) can interpret a change as a new contract.

If you want to leave VM totally (I know I do) it's probably wise to run the services side by side for a month just to allow for your new broadband to be setup.

You are not allowed to leave VM.

you can leave virgin media with 30 days notice, but if you cancel your phone and broadband you will not be able to keep the tv service on the medium package as that is only available with phone line, you can take the tv-xl package as a stand alone, it's about £28.00 per month, if you want to keep the free tv would suggest that you don't go to bt
