How do these pre approved offers work?
I will be looking for a loan in the next few months through Barclays (if appected) and want to know what is taken into account when they pre approve you. I have only been a Barclays customer for over 3 months, i have current account plus with them and the e-savings account.

My questions are
Will only being a customer for 3 months be a problem?
Will my saving with Barclays be taken into account?
Will they make they decision on what's in my current account?

Unless you have a very strong credit score, yes.

No. It is an unsecured loan - the decision is made based on your credit worthiness alone. If we gave you that loan, you could still spend that money or withdraw it, etc.

Will they make they decision on what's in my current account?

The balance? No.

We will evaluate your entries and other such things, though.

I think these are based on the 'limits' system, so you are shown what you can get without to much hassle.

most banks operate on a 6-12 month policy to obtain a damn good internal score with pre-approved offers.
