Best to start a new thread, but for Income Support you have to work less than 16 hours. With CA (? about £55 a week?) plus £65 wages I think you'd be over the income level, but you might be able to get Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit, depending on your circumstances.

Hello i have been getting income support for about 8 months now i recently chnage address so had to go in and make a statement about change address.. they wanted me to go on Job seekers allowence but i suffer from Anxiety disorder so they told me about making a clain for incapactiy benifit they said even if i dont get it it will mean i can remain on income support for the time being so i filled out the form and they ask me to get a sick note from the doctor so i did and left the form in yesturday. I havent been paid income support for 2 weeks now will be 3 on Monday. My question ia will i get back paid for those 3 weeks as i didnt recieve nothing? i have had to borrow money off reletives this last couple of weeks. any help would be great!

    Hi firefox123,

    Welcome to MSE.

Could I ask why you have been receiving IS up to now? Also, when is your sick note dated from? x

I am concerned as to why you were receiving IS for the past eight months, as you would not normally be entitled if you were at college. Have you been unwell before, or are you a lone parent?

You will receive IS for reason of Incapacity as of yesterday. Your eligibility prior to yesterday will depend on the reason that you were receiving IS.

I lived on my own so i needed some sort of money to live on if i didnt get IS then i would have had no money.

I really hope they backpay me as i have borrowed alot to keep me going. they should there is no reason why they shouldnt

Was it definitely IS that you were claiming? Single people are usually only entitled to IS if they are unable to work through incapacity.

I think that you need to take specialist advice from somebody that can have access to your claim details. If you were not entitled to the money, then you will need to arrange a repayment schedule.

Here is some info on who may be entitled to IS.
