in Credit cards
I've just discovered this site and it's totally amazing - a wealth of information. I am particularly interested in the Credit Card Fees stories and bank fee 'reform'. This has been a HUGE thorn in my side for a long time - it infuriates me to see hard working people go bust from these VERY unfair fees. But I'm in the USA and this site focuses on the UK. Do these new laws apply to banks in the US also? Forgive me but I am not that business saavy and my understanding of the business world is very limited (:A), but this is an issue close to home. Can anybody tell me if these issues are international?

Hi ReneeSue,
I think the new new credit card and bank reform you are talking about is the bill that has just been passed through the House of Representatives in the USA.
This bill if passed into law would be limited to the US and any laws passed for the UK only apply in the UK.
Hope this helps

dany - Thank you for your reply. I saw the news about the new credit card bill here in the US which sent me in search of anything similar for banking fees. And I found this site - I was so elated to see change, somewhere. For years I have wanted to do something about this problem but where do you even begin with such a monstrosity? Looks like someone already has and I'm not alone - by far. Have you read the stuff on this site about reclaiming past fees? Justice is finally being served. I was just hoping banks in the US, by affiliation with those in the UK, might be included...
