I recently sold a blouse which I stated was size 16/18 as the label had been cut out and I wasnt sure which size it was. I am a size 16 and it was too big for me. I have just received an email from the purchaser saying it is a size 10 and doesnt go anywhere near her. No way is it a size 10 and if it doesnt fit her she must be at least an 18 if not larger. She says please reimburse for full amount including postage. Any ideas how I should deal with this please. If you think I should reimburse her I will ask for it to be returned first but could you please point me in the right direction to reimburse her as I have never had to do this before. The total was only £3.19 but it is the principle as no kiddin the blouse is really large. Thank you for any help.
It is Item number: 230341826850 if that would help as I think you can see how big it is.

No way is that a size 10.
Tell her to open a dispute if she wants a refund - they'll tell her to return it to you first anyway and she isn't entitled to the postage for that, only what she paid you originally.
Would just be easier for her to re-list it and sell it herself adding the measurements. Might even get a better price for it...?
Just a thought - if you wanted to, you could offer to let her use your photo if she wanst to re-list it? Might keep her sweet. It aint over til I've done singing....0 -
It actually belonged to my sister who gave it to me, we are of similar size although I think at one time she was a bit bigger than me so I think it was probably an 18. Sizing in Next is slightly on the small size and a size 10 in Next would be tiny and wouldnt go anywhere near either one of us. In fact I havent worn a size 10 since I was about 12 years old. Obviously she doesnt like it but it would probably have been easier for her to have resold it.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494

tell her to return it for a refund
no point going to dispute0 -
I agree - be polite (to try and avoid negative) and say if she returns the item you will refund her upon its receipt. Best not mentioning her return postage costs but if she pushes the issue say you will check the item size against others you have there and if she is correct and its your error you will refund her - if she's incorrect (as she appears to be) then she will not be due a return postage refund. Some People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0

Might be an idea to put in some measurements when you resell. Then there is no comeback next time.
I would refund just to avoid a neg on such a low value item. I would agree to a refund once item has been measured to ascertain true size upon return to weed out if she is half trying it on. But keep it nice and sweet and you should be ok.0 -
Next are always quite generous with their sizes, and that blouse is clearly not a size 10!!
Just email her back asking her to return the item via trackable method, and you'll give her a refund.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
You could always email her the measurements for a size 10 & ask her to measure the blouse. If she still thinks its a size 10 tell her to return it to you for measuring again.
That might bring it home to her.Tallyhoh! Stopped Smoking October 2000. Saved £29382.50 so far!0 -
For that sort of money just get it back without fuss not worth the hassle.0
