This firm don't appear to be a member of the Institute of Professional Willwriters or any other professional organisation so I wouldn't take the chance quite frankly.

Visit www.ipw.org.uk to find qualified, regulated and insured members in your area.

Membership of the Institute of Professional Willwriters is acquired by passing an entrance exam and complying with an OFT endorsed code of practice, and I declare myself a member.

Why not make one or two of the beneficuries [sp?] as executor? No legal reason why not, witnessess of will are another matter

Many thanks or your replies. I will look on the site suggested by localhero. I have asked the charities involved if they could act as executors but it is not something they will take on. Back to the drawing board I think.

Contact a local solicitors firm. For a very basic will you'll probably pay around £50+VAT. They will also be able to act as an executor, when required, although they'll charge fees from your estate.

Geting a solicitor or bank to act as executor is the worst thing to do. They will charge for every letter they have to write and even for arranging the funeral. Try to find some relative, colleague, neighbour or friend.
