Which Spyware?

Hi all,

I am just about to renew the software I have at the moment (Spyware Detector, cost of £13.58) which I haven't really had any problems with but would like to test the water to see if there are any better deals out there.

I've tried Spyware Doctor previously and it seems to be on a par.

Thanks inadvance!!

  • SuperAntiSpyware is very well regarded.

    For reference I use:

    Anti-virus - Avira AntiVir
    Anti-malware - Malwarebytes
    Anti-spyware - SUPERAntiSpyware
    Firewall - Windows XP SP3

    Cheers for that!

I've downloaded a free trial for 15 days, will see how it goes!

Why download the trial when you can get it for free?!
  • Spyware Doctor hogged my computer like nothing ordinary! Wouldn't recommend it.

It is free, for 15 days!!

There are 2 options and the one I would prefer is a professional version which offers more protection than the 'absolutely free' version. This version comes at a price but you can 'try it out' for free for 15 days.

    Why not?!

Because some 'trial software' can be an unbelievable nightmare to remove

There are some good freeware programs out there, personally I use:

    Malwarebytes anti-malware
    Spybot search & destroy
    Super anti-spyware

You really don't need to pay for malware protection. Like some of the other posters here, I use the following and have never had any problems:

    Avira AntiVir
    Firefox 3 + NoScript add-on
    Spywareblaster
    Spybot - Search & Destroy
    Malwarebytes' Antimalware (free version)
