Hi,
I had an emai today about a credit card Play.com are launching...
0% on card purchases for 9 months
0% on balance transfers for 6 months
15.9% APR

The thing that attracted me was the points to spend at Play.com as I use it a lot. The 0% on card purchases and balance transfers looks good to me however, I don't know much about credit cards at all... Is this as good as it sounds?

Sorry don't know anything about interest rates as I always pay off the full balance each month so don't know how this deal compares to others. However, my query is with the playpoints. In the email from Play it states right at the bottom in small writing "the redemption value of your points will vary based upon the choice of voucher redemption". One of the perks of this card is that they say for every 500 points you earn, you get a gift voucher of £5 to spend at Play.com. Does that mean that this is not always the case then? Can anyone clarify please?

Hi - I'm from Play and just saw your post. To clarify 1 point = 1 pence, so you may decide to redeem all your points for a gift voucher (all 1000 for a £10 gift voucher) or just some of the points (500 for a £5 gift voucher).

The wording you mentioned is included in the event that there are changes or enhancements to the points programme. Thank you for highlighting this and as a result we will remove this wording in future communications due to the confusion it may cause.
