should i expect my bills to be the same, more expensive or cheaper when moving?
im going from 60's 2 bed flat ALL electric on KEY meter with storage heaters
to a new build 2 bed flat gas heating, radiators and electric everything else?
Im trying to budget 150-200 for gas and electric
Summer on key meter i was paying 25 a wk and in winter 40 a wk
So just on average would you expect to be the most expensive property to run? ppl have said we may need less heating as we will have heating from the nieghbours etc
thanks in advance

I would expect an older property to be more expensive. I would expect gas central heating to be less expensive than storage heating.
Other factors (number of position of outside walls, room layout and sizes etc) will affect the costs, as will levels of insulation.0 -
The only difference will be the costs of heating and hot water.
Insulation on new build will be much better than 60's property. So if they are the same size the amount of heat loss will be less.
Gas is cheaper than economy 7 storage heaters, but not by a mssive margin, but again as gas provides 'instant' heat there is less loss than storage heaters, and no need to top up with expensive daytime heating.
All in all your gas and electricity costs should show a considerable decrease.0
