Am I panicking over nothing?

Am 100% borrower
submitted mortgage inquiry online - received AIP, made offer, offer accepted, submitted full mortgage application plus supporting paperwork - ie wage slips, current rental agreement, proof of ID, current utility bill and cheque for valuation. Valuation went ahead - (have a copy) and everything was fine. Called today to check mortgage offer progression and was told it has been sent to Head Office for final approval. Am I being paranoid or is this normal practice. Sorry to sound thick but dont really understand if this is because there might be a problem or because it's normally a head office that sends out the formal offer.
Would really appreciate any feedback
Many Thanks

I think you probably are- an application is normally signed off by a senior person after everything has been gathered- not to say they never get knocked back at this stage but it is unusual.

    Hope this helps/reassures.

I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.
I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.
Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far!
