AEG or Siemens fridge freezer?

Hi

Finally, have come down to 2 side by side american style fridge freezers, which I like but not sure which is better as have never used these brands before- AEG or Siemens? Both are similar price.

Originally had thought of buying a Maytag but negative reviews on internet made me change my mind.

I would probably say the Siemens/Neff/Bosch unit (as they are all the same essentially) however it is far eastern built as I belive the AEG would be. This is because no European manufacturer makes the standard 900-920 mm wide side by side fridge freezer. All the European manufacturers re-badge American made or far eastern made units.

The American made units would be generally better and Amana is known to be the best of them.

I would say it is best to take negative comments on Maytag into context as there are probably more side by side fridge freezers made by Maytag in this country by far than any other make. But I would still say Amana.

MOst appliances are built in the same few factories. You are buying the brand. You may feel better getting a more expensive appliance, good for you, but they might be built by the same person.

AEG is the same as Electrolux.

aeg, electrolux, bosch, neff, siemens all the same thing. maytag make most whirlpool usa styles too, but to a lesser standard

Thanks for all your replies.

Amana is really nice but tooooo expensive. So will have to consider one of these only.

The seimens one has recently been discontinued so not sure whether to buy a discontinued model or maybe look at other ones.
