Fabulous Mascara with a small price tag?

Hi All

I have done a search and couldnt find a similar one, so am hoping this thread isnt going to be a duplicate!

I currently use Lancome Hynose Mascara, which I absolutely love......but its £17 a go!

Can any of you recommend an absolutely fabulous mascara please with a smaller price tag??

I would prefer it to be volumising & lengthening and waterproof!

I dont ask for much do i! :D

Thanks in advance if anyone can help xx

I've been impressed with the Boots No7 Extreme Length Mascara. No clumping and lasts well too.

No7 often do a good job of doing a more affordable version of an expensive product. Like their version of Touche Eclat as well!

I've heard, but not tried yet, that the Asda smart price mascara (about a £1 I think) is one of the best! I've only got a small Asda near me and they don't stock the make up!!

If it is any good - what a bargain!

2000 Calorie Max Factor is my favourite. They have a new one too that i can't recall the name of....falsh lashes or something like that. My eyes look like spiders with them both on. ( I know, i know but that's how i like it )

If anyone can find a mascara that really is absolutely fabulous & volumising & lengthening & TRUELY waterproof, I would happily pay £17 for it.

I've never found one that is all three.
  • My moneysaving tip is to buy the Lancome mascara gift sets from Debenhams in the January sales. The mascaras are £18 plus on their own from Debenhams, but they reduce the gift sets to half price. It cost me £13 this year for L'Extreme mascara, eye make up remover and eyeliner in a gift set, previous years I've picked up Hypnose for £12.50 in a set.
I know it's no good for this time of year but something to bear in mind for the future :)

N.B. my stand by fave is 2000 calorie by Max Factor.

I've just bought the new False Lash Mascara from Max Factor. I really like it (and seems to be one of the only companies that sell black/brown - I don't want black its too harsh and brown isn't dark enough......anyway I digress). It doesn't drop and give me panda eyes but gives me a full lash look. Not sure if they sell it in waterproof though.
It's currently on sale for £8-odd quid in Superdrug (normally retails for around £11-£12 normally).
I would probably recommend most Max Factor mascaras. I previously used the Calorie 2000 - been very happy with it (only bought the false lash one because they hadn't got the colour I wanted in stock).

I believe next month's edition of Glamour magazine comes with Benefit Bad Gal waterproof mascara. I'm looking foward to seeing how long lasting it is, because I loved the effect of Bad Gal non-waterproof, it gave me fab long thick lashes, with no clumping, but because it wasn't waterproof left me with panda eyes after about 15 mins!

It's definitely worth shelling out a couple of quid to try it, and if it's a stayer, I'll be buying.

Oh, and I'm big Hypnose fan too. Keep meaning to try out the Max Factor false lash one as well, I've heard good things about it.

Max Factor False Lash Effect. It's fantastic, even the waterproof one :D
