Car Tax Renewal (online)

Hi I've just gone on line to pay for my 12 months car tax £145.
While filling the online forms in I noticed 12 months £150.
Do you know,has the car taxed increased without my knowledge or is this another blunder by DVLA.

No. £150 is now correct. The reminder would only be correct "at the time of printing".

If you paid when you had the notice you would have got it, but it has recently gone up!

Car tax always goes up, just be thankful they never punished everyone like planned before.

Take revenge! Go and tax it at the post office and make the DVLA pay the PO a fee.

Helps everyone out. I might tax my car online 1 day if they start offering discounts.

There is one benefit (apart from the missing the queue).

You don't have to wait whilst the jobsworth does her best to scour your insurance cert. for an anomaly!

Always try to do the renewal at the post office. A wonderful modern system where they give you the tax disc straight away, so you're not reliant on a 14th-century mail system to receive it several days later.

Indeed, it helps to keep Post Offices open as well.

The same has just happened to me, when I went to pay for my road tax at my postoffice I had to pay the increase charge. I only got my reminder last week, and they clearly new that the charge had gone up. So why can't they get the forms correct!!!

I phone the dvla and they said they use preprinted forms. So how many forms are they now throwing away as next month the new charge will be clearly in place. It's just a clear waste of money, and we are having to pay for it..

I suggest that we all write and complain to the dvla and get our extra charge reimbursed, MP have claimed far to much in expenses so why should we pay for their misstakes in using preprinted forms. If a shop sent you out a recipt with the incorrect price on you would not expect to pay more later.....
