Can your friend reinstall from discs (maybe ordered from AOL) then try to go online?burbs wrote:But how can i do all this when she cant get onto the net?0 -
Hi again
She has AOL Version 9
Modem is a BT Voyager 105
Router is a ADSL MS50
Is that any help to anyone?0 -
You might want to read this:

Norton would seem to be the culprit. Basic info...Norton pattern download detected AOL as a dodgy connection and blocked access to the internet. Updated patch is available. They promised the earth...and delivered mud. Technically though it did meet the spec.0 -
From reading back, Norton was uninstalled before the problem. It was working OK without Norton and becuase it was uninstalled, it wouldn't have liveupdated itself.Dack wrote:You might want to read this:

Agree with you (more likely to be BT not re-enabling ADSL on the reconnection) - just wondering which Symantec/Norton product was uninstalled though. It affects Norton Internet Suite and not Norton Antivirus.
Knowing how much fun it is getting rid of Norton products I wonder if it was fully uninstalled. They promised the earth...and delivered mud. Technically though it did meet the spec.0 -

I don't know much about the Voyager 105 so I had a look for the user manual to try to find out what lights are on the modem and what they indicate.
I found this which explains what they mean. Ignore pages 1 to 8 and look at 9 and 10. Hope this helps a bit.Dave. :wave:0 -
I know what you mean. There's a tool on the symantec site for removing Norton fully, but it's no help for someone without an internet connectionDack wrote:Knowing how much fun it is getting rid of Norton products I wonder if it was fully uninstalled.
