Sorry found information somewhere else (not google). Apparently it is illegal to sell premiership tickets anywhere other than authorised outlets.0

Could you post a link so other MSE members can refer to it if ever needed?0

My niece tried to sell her ticket for a semi final that she really couldn't go to on Ebay & they wouldn't let her.
I think it's because they're worried about fakes & over crowding now.0 -

Partly, but I think the main reason is to ensure that fans of one team don't end up in with all the fans of the other - the two sides are supposed to be segregated.0 -

In the United Kingdom resale of football/soccer tickets is illegal under section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 unless the resale is authorized by the organizer of the match, such as what viagogo is doing through its partnerships with Chelsea FC, Manchester United, and Everton FC.

I belong to freecycle.org, and as well as being able to offer and collect items, we also have a local 'cafe', people have offered football tickets (for the same price as they paid) on there. HTH's0

Most clubs let fans swap their tickets for other matches if they cannot attend. It is illegal to sell or exchange tickets for a football match unless via a person authorised to do so by the football clubs or promoters concerned.
'Selling’ is defined widely for these purposes and includes offering to sell a ticket, advertising a ticket for sale, as well as giving a ticket to someone who pays for some other goods or services. In enforcing this offence, the police may act on information received from any person.
9 Section 166 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 (as amended by the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006).
