capital one + lloyds tsb

first thing i sent my first letter off to capital 1 to claim back ppi, i got a letter back on sat saying that they dont think i was miss-sold ppi but will offer me a gesture of good will £47!
i dont know what to do next can some one help me please? thanx

second thing is lloyds tsb i also sent a letter regarding my ppi on a loan, got a letter last week saying that i didnt have ppi (which i wasnt sure weather i did have it) and that the matter wont be took any further, but i got a letter yesterday saying that they couldnt proceed with my complaint as they didnt have my account number. (i paid the loan off in 2007) iam just abit confussed on this one!
any advice would be great thanx

    First of all in regards to Cap one, if your not happy with that amount, you should be eligible to take this to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), do you know what the difference in amounts is?

    And in regards to Lloyds seems like a bit of a botch up somewhere.

    I would check old statements for the account number for when you were paying out on this, and if you've no agreement then write to them to ask them for a copy, this should show is you signed up for PPI or not, they do normally charge a £1 postal order or cheque payment for this, and should supply by 12 days.

    You could though for even more paperwork on your account request a SAR (Subject Access Request) they have to supply everything by 40 days of requesting this.
